Whether we are involved with the formal or informal channel of communicating, the objectives behind the communication task is to:
– To get action or our communication must bring a change in behavior
– The message we sending has to be received, heard or read
– Our communication has to be accepted
– Finally, what we saying needs to be understood.
When we fail to achieve any of the four objectives mentioned above, we have failed to communicate. Sometimes, interestingly, we shout at the recipient thinking that he/she is stupid or don’t understand plain English! There is nothing like plain English, English is just a code which we use to express our thoughts in our head, and a code has to be understood by both parties for the meaning to be transferred to each.
